The Brunch Diaries Four






Last week I had a little break from the Brunch Diaries because I wasn’t sure I was in a good enough place to be able to go out and select something that was going to fit within my eating template. So, I just decided to abstain. [Me and moderation don’t mix too well, but more on that in the next few days] After the successful week that I had, I decided that I was a lot stronger than I thought I was, so, nothing could stop me on Saturday morning. Plus, I will be honest, we hadn’t been shopping and my breakfast options at home weren’t looking that flash.

We headed down to Wide Open Road. I must disclaim, we have been here before, in fact we have been here more than once, because it’s delicious and I wanted to include it in this little feature, and I make the rules so I can do what I want. Right, where was I? We arrived about 9am, and there were already a few keen breakfast go-ers filling the tables. We managed to score one of my favourite spots in the café, under the big window and ordered a coffee while we pondered the menu. I delve into the world of Long Blacks on Saturday, in exchange for my normal latte or flat white. I think it will take a little while to get use to. But it was alright! Small keto win. I’d just like to take a minute to say how awesome the staff at Wide Open Road are. They are friendly, professional, and super happy to accommodate my custom requests like no toast, extra avocado and a side of bacon with my poached eggs. Phew. Greg ordered the bacon sandwich, which is full of relish and deliciousness.

Our coffees arrived, and were quickly followed by our food. It was all delicious, although my eggs were a little underdone this time around, which is a first for here so I am going to let that slide because normally they are on point. Greg was happy with meal and we left feeling full and happy.
