I remember years ago my mum coming home from work with a magazine article that featured a pink haired, glitter clad beautiful woman who spoke about self love and her journey from New Zealand to New York. I remember thinking how awesome she was, and how her message totally resonated with me. What I didn't realise was her blog would become a constant source of inspiration and indirect support as I paved my own path over the coming years. So the fact that Gala, along with Kat, one of my favourite wedding bloggers and Shauna, one of the most stylish and visually pleasing creative bloggers ever, The Blogcademy is like Christmas for this humble lifestyle blogger.
Last year was the first time that I had heard about The Blogcademy. One of my beautiful friends attended the event in Auckland, and after reading all about her experience I knew that this was the place for me. The whole idea just had me weak at the knees.
When Greg and I moved to Melbourne, and the 2014 dates were released I marked it on my calendar. This was it, I was going to go to The Blogcademy. And then, life sort of got in the way. We were in a new country and the money disappeared quicker than it came in, things happened. And I quickly realised that the dream was slipping away. And then it hit me. Blog Scholarship. A chance to do something creative, and different and a chance to get noticed by 3 of the raddest ladies in the blog-o-sphere. I didn't even think twice.
Attending The Blogcademy feels like the next step I need to take. I love this little slice of the internet that I get to call home, and I love the amazing people that I have met because I sit in front of my computer and pour out my heart. The Blogcademy is next level, its a chance to learn, and grow and develop not only my skills but my heart. A chance for me to find a community of like minded babes in this new city and even more so, a chance for me to be better, and bolder.
So there you have it. My scholarship application to attend the 2014 Melbourne workshop of The Blogcademy.
